Outfit of the Week: A Suede Tank and a Cool Pencil Skirt

It’s easy to fall into a style rut by mid-summer, but you don’t have to resort to grabbing a lightweight dress out of your closet and calling it a day. You can looked pulled together even when the heat starts to get to your brain. Last week, we showed you one way to wear summer neutrals, but if you want to switch it up, here’s another option that plays with textures. Begin with a sleek racerback faux-suede tank that’s surprisingly breezy. Tuck it into a tasseled Tory Burch pencil skirt and add a pair of snakeskin slides in the same creamy color scheme. For those of you who work in an environment with a less flexible dress code, you can throw on a lightweight cardigan or blazer to make it office (and aggressive air-conditioning) appropriate. Or if you prefer, just use it as inspiration when you want to be the best-dressed person at brunch.

Zara Suede Racer Back Tank, $19.99 for similar at Zara; Tory Burch Striped Canvas skirt, $297 for similar at Tory Burch; Baggu Drawstring Purse, $140 at Baggu; Ancient Greek Sandals Taygete Flat Sandal, $185 at Nordstrom for similar; Steven Alan Wendell Sunglasses, $165 at Steven Alan.
