let's talk about sex

Did you know the world’s last remaining glory hole is currently on display in a Manhattan museum? Did you even know that glory holes have gone extinct? In this week’s episode, “Sex Lives” guest Mark Snyder, director of exhibitions at the Museum of Sex, talks about the museum’s current exhibit “Hardcore: A Century and a Half of Obscene Imagery,” which proves the PornHub generation has nothing on those kinky Victorians. (In case you were wondering, the hole came from a private home and was transferred with the wall intact.)

During the second half of the show, we dive into a discussion of sex on ABC’s The Bachelor. The franchise has been on for 30 seasons, yet this season of The Bachelorette was the first time anybody on the show has ever acknowledged that human adults who are dating sometimes — gasp! — have sex. What makes this season so different? Contestant Kaitlyn Bristowe. New York Magazine’s self-appointed Bachelor archivist Jada Yuan joins Allison Davis, Maureen O’Connor, and David Wallace-Wells to discuss why Bristowe is the Katniss Everdeen of reality-TV-show sex, and how this season might change The Bachelor forever.

A new episode of “Sex Lives” can be found each Wednesday on iTunes or SoundCloud.
