John Oliver Made a Helpful, Easy-to-Understand Sex-Ed Video

On Sunday night’s episode of Last Week Tonight, John Oliver took on the national embarrassment that is sex education. After breaking down the current state of sex ed in America’s schools (only 22 states require that schools teach some form of sex ed, and only 13 of those states require that the instruction be medically accurate, so yeah, it doesn’t look good), he concludes: “There is no way we’d allow any other academic program to consistently fail to prepare students for life after school. And human sexuality, unlike calculus, is something you actually need to know about for the rest of your life.”

To that end, Oliver took it upon himself to make an entertaining and informative video about safe sex, which includes easy-to-understand explanations of anatomy, abstinence, and consent, as well as footage of Laverne Cox putting a condom on a banana. Watch the full segment above.
