When most people go to Saint-Tropez during August, they wear swimsuits and shorts, or maybe even a casual caftan. Karl Lagerfeld is immune to such conventional notions of summer vacation. When he goes to Saint-Tropez, he sticks to his multi-layered uniform — even when it reaches almost 100 degrees. Yesterday, he strolled along the French Riviera wearing a patchwork blazer, a crisp white collar, a tie, pants, boots, and, yes, his trademark leather gloves. Letting just a little bit loose, Herr Karl broke from tradition and carried a small plaid clutch. Fashion vampire, indeed.
