If there’s one thing Karl Lagerfeld can’t get enough of — besides his beloved Choupette, that is— it’s casting actresses to play Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel in his short films. Keira Knightley and Geraldine Chaplin have previously incarnated the house founder for Lagerfeld, and now, Kristen Stewart is stepping into her ballet flats. Women’s Wear Daily reports that this time, the role will be a tad more complicated: Stewart is playing an actress who is herself playing a young Coco, while Chaplin reprises her role.

Perhaps the film, which will be screened at the house’s Métiers d’Arts show in Rome in December, is an attempt to take back the narrative from Hollywood. Quips Lagerfeld, “They make so many movies about Chanel, why can’t I make one?”
