In 2011, Jessica Chastain played seven different characters in seven different movies. Evidence that she can, and will, play just about any type of role. But she still hasn’t been offered the one she’s dreaming of.
In the interview accompanying her mind-blowingly great cover shoot, she tells W: “One of my goals is to play a villain in a Bond film. People ask me if I want to be a Bond girl, and I say, ‘No, I want to be the villain.’ I’m waiting for that call!”
Well, after beholding this shoot, featuring Chastain with the otherworldly skin, hot-pink hair, and crazy-huge painted-on eyebrows of someone capable of great evil, I’m convinced she’d be a damn good Bond villain. Just cast Idris Elba as her Bond counterpart, and we’ll see you at the Oscars.
