Since Alber Elbaz was pushed out of his job at Lanvin last month, protests have come from everyone from the house’s design team to the mayor of Paris. Last night, Cate Blanchett joined the supporters, too: She wore a dress from Elbaz’s last collection to the New York premiere of Carol, paying a subtle tribute to the designer in the form of gathered olive fabric and a beige bodice.
