Every Monday at the Cut, we’re highlighting one great purchase that won’t take up your whole paycheck. If you’re looking for a splurge instead, check back every Friday for one great purchase that’s worth eating ramen noodles for the rest of eternity.
Epaulet maybe known as a menswear mecca, but now they’re doing a little something for the ladies. The New York store has teamed up with What Not To Wear style guru Stacy London to launch bold retro-inspired sneakers for all your normcore needs. You get a lot more than you might imagine for under $200: The shoes are handcrafted in Portugal, fitted with a kidskin leather lining, and feature a 360°-stitched reinforced rubber sole so they won’t look as run-down as your Chucks after a year. The ocean calf and steel suede pair would look great with a cool pleated top and pants or a funky faux-fur coat, but get on them fast: Only 50 pairs of each style were produced.
