Twitter is trading in its beloved “favorites” for “likes,” meaning the cute stars you used to click in recognition of other people’s mediocre content will be turned into corny-ass hearts.
“You might like a lot of things, but not everything can be your favorite,” Twitter product manager Akarshan Kumar told Mashable. “The heart, in contrast, is a universal symbol that resonates across languages, cultures, and time zones. The heart is more expressive, enabling you to convey a range of emotions and easily connect with people. And in our tests, we found that people loved it.”
That is a statement I would not fave.
Twitter users took the change in stride. Haha nah.
One question remains: If we can no longer fave each other’s tweets, how will we flirt?
