Comedian Margaret Cho has talked extensively about the sexual abuse she suffered as a child in the hopes of igniting conversation about rape and sexual assault. Friday morning, she released a new video for her single “I Want to Kill My Rapist,” which features an army of ass-kicking women training to lay waste to Cho’s attacker.
“I do not condone violence but cathartic rage has its place in art,” Cho said in a statement. “I believe if you have been sexually abused, you must ‘murder’ your rapist in your mind. Abuse leads to self abuse, drug addiction, depression, eating disorders, suicide. I want to kill it before it kills me.”
