Derby is an adorable two-year-old husky mix who was born with front paws that weren’t fully formed, leaving him to scoot around on his nubs. That changed last December, when a 3-D-printing company designed prosthetic paws for him that strapped to his doggy elbows.
But those were version 1.0 and intentionally short so he could gradually make the transition to walking with a flat back. Derby recently got his new paws, and the inspired figure-eight design is not only taller but also absorbs impact like human knees.
Not only is his back level, but he can also sit like other dogs instead of having to lie down. The bionic-pet revolution continues.
