starve a cold-play

Some Guy Told Chris Martin Not to Eat for a Full Day Every Week and Now He’s Just Doing It

Chris Martin, member of Coldplay, a rock group famous for its inclusion in 2004 film Garden State, is on a diet that demands he eat nothing one day per week. Oh, like his ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow’s absurd-sounding 5:2 diet? Where she doesn’t eat anything two days out of the week? But wimpier and less hard-core? your wondering. No — this diet is different. He heard about this diet from a guy, for example.

“I started doing it because I was sick one time,” Martin told the hosts of Fresh 102.7, “and this guy said to me, ‘Just try not eating for a day because it will make your body feel healthier.’”

Just try, this guy said — because it will make your body “feel” healthier — and just try Chris Martin did:

“I did it and then I found I could sing a bit better, and also I felt so grateful for food … and just grateful for everything in a way that I wasn’t so much before. I think that that feeling of gratitude and stuff naturally brings out a joyous feeling, and also when you’re hungry you are very focused, so both sides of it I think help creativity.”

“I think that that feeling of gratitude and stuff naturally brings out a joyous feeling.” —Chris Martin on not eating food one day per week ‘cause some dude notably did NOT tell him that it would make his body actually be healthier.

All right, my man.

“And also when you’re hungry you are very focused.”

Okay, dude.

“So both sides of it I think help creativity.”

Mmhm.

As they say: Feed a fever, starve a Coldplay.
