Along with appearing on Transparent and planning fro-yo dates with Caitlyn Jenner, 22-year-old transgender model Hari Nef can add walking in Milan Fashion Week to her list of achievements: she made her debut at Gucci’s A16 menswear show.
The model has represented brands from Eckhaus Latta to Vejas at New York Fashion Week, but this is her first go at Milan Fashion Week, according to Dazed magazine. She’s also taken over Gucci’s Snapchat channel:
Nef told Milan backstage press that her partnership with Gucci came as a result of her work on Transparent. After she requested a dress to wear on the show, Creative Director Alessandro Michele asked Nef to dinner at the Chateau Marmont in L.A., where she was won over by Michele’s vision, reports Dazed:
“He’s a great guy and sees people, he sees characters. He doesn’t see a lot of the labels.”
Nef’s partnership with Gucci speaks to just that.
