Hero Female Shark Eats Bothersome Male Shark

It is a truth universally acknowledged that a female shark in possession of an intimidating set of teeth has every right to consume, digest, and eventually vomit back up any smaller male sharks who happen to get in her way. According to the BBC, this exact scenario indeed took place this week at the COEX Aquarium in Seoul as the result of a turf war between a female sand tiger shark and a male banded hound shark.

This act of shark cannibalism likely was the result of the sharks bumping into one another. “Sharks have their own territories,” an aquarium official told Reuters. “Sometimes, when they bump into each other, they bite out of astonishment.”
