David Sims has been busy behind the lens this season, photographing Kendall Jenner in leather for Mango and Natalie Westling for Alexander McQueen. In Theory’s newly released spring-summer 2016 ad campaign, the British fashion photographer captures models Andreea Diaconu and Hana Jirickova wearing an updated take on the brand’s urban uniform.
The collection spotlights “the New Suit,” combining menswear-inspired tailoring with feminine silhouettes in an array of luxe textures: lightweight wool, crepe and crisp cotton poplin, and silk georgette. Theory CEO Andrew Rosen told the Cut he was especially impressed by Sims’s ability to capture the style Diaconu and Jirickova bring to the new line. “David shot Andreea and Hana as a pair and individually, in portraits and fashion images, which give dimension and personality to the collection,” he said. “The pictures showcase a relationship between two strong, beautiful women, and at the same time they celebrate their individuality. It’s a spirit that is uniquely modern, and uniquely Theory.”
