Astrology GIFs for the Week of January 18, 2015

It might be freezing outside in much of the country, but it’s time to turn up the heat indoors. Fun-loving Venus dancing with jubilant Jupiter on Monday could spill over into the rest of the week. That’s superb for spicing things up with your S.O. or your buddies. The ace thing to do is to connect with others and have a good time.

With Venus changing signs into value-conscious Capricorn on Saturday, use the planet’s attractive power to connect with people and situations that raise your worth. In Capricorn, Venus is ambitious and intuitively knows good value. If you’ve been thinking about a new job, this is the time to appraise your résumé, or have a levelheaded friend or recruiter evaluate your potential in the market. Likewise, this is a prime time to ready your wares for market, whether that’s your professional portfolio or the stuff your partner calls junk. Mercury moves direct next Monday, and Venus is here to help you get a jump on making moves.

The illuminating and illustrious sun changes signs, too, launching into far-out Aquarius on Wednesday. This brings clarity to how we do good work for others in trouble. Powerful Mars freely lends his ardor by a sweet trine to visionary Neptune, and this supports the sun’s push toward teamwork and clearer thinking.

The planetary weather report: Use these guidelines to unlock the stars, not to be locked down by them.

We’ll have to brace ourselves to bare more of our souls and deeper truths that we’d rather keep hidden when silver-tongued Mercury makes a jittery connection with principled Uranus and brooding Pluto between Wednesday and Friday. Saturday’s Leo full moon is where our individual need to shine meets a collective need to grow and glow. It’s good to know that you can go it alone with some projects or adventures, but it’s even better to know that there are people who have your back. Let those most important to you know that you have theirs in return during this full moon.

Read on for your sign’s Sky Code.

Capricorn (December 22 to January 20)

Luscious Venus extends your birthday season by showering her powers of attraction and beauty on you when she enters your sign on Saturday. Spend the extra dollars on a makeover or new lewk that you can score without breaking the bank. You’re worth it, and key to your success this year is showing that you do top-dollar work … and dressing the part. There’s a similar message for romance, too. Invest in an outfit that’ll leave someone breathless, and spruce up your Tinder pics. Folks are ready to find you!

Aquarius (January 21 to February 18)

Saturday’s Leo full moon adds fireworks to the start of your birthday season. Full moons relieve tension and you likely have more built up than you realize. Leo, the sign opposite to yours in the Zodiac, emphasizes the heart and body over the mind. Honor your passions more, rather than believing you have to work everything out first in your head. Be fully in your body, whether you do that through dancing until closing time, between the sheets, or scoring a daily pass to your fave yoga studio.

Pisces (February 19 to March 20)

You might have to ease into the week like a hung-over party host waking up to find the lawn furniture on the roof. Perhaps you just feel too raw for this world. Fortunately, a sensible, tough-love chat with a friend might be the thing that grounds you. Once you feel that you’re on solid ground, start tackling tasks that are more mundane rather than getting involved in massive projects or attempting to save the world. It’s okay if all you can do is concentrate on cleaning the dishes, one plate a time.

Aries (March 21 to April 19)

You’re likely suffering from “anywhere-but-here” syndrome, bound up with winter cabin fever. Of course, you can always plan a getaway for later, but the Cosmos is also lobbing another challenge at you for now. You’re born to create your own fun and luck, not defer those for other climes and times. Use the momentum of that juicy square between pleasurable Venus and spirited Jupiter to lift your own spirits and those of your crew with inspiration and motivation.

Taurus (April 20 to May 20)

A Leo full moon pushes you out of the frightful den of your inadequacies, real or imagined, to put to good use whatever skill sets you’ve been sharpening. You could go with the “fake it until you make it” strategy of getting things done, but you don’t like to roll like that. Take your time, and don’t let someone else’s impatience become yours. It might also help to explain what you’re doing for others, especially if it’s something intricate and new, because sometimes people are willing to wait when they know what they’re waiting for is special.

Gemini  (May 21 to June 20)

You’ve actually been taking more stock of what’s been happening around you than others — or even you — realized. Often you have to step away from things to wrap your mind around them correctly. Full moons always illuminate what’s been hidden in the dark, and you now will have to sort through the issues that have been bubbling up for a while. Fortunately, you have the flexibility and emotional detachment to straighten up what’s gotten off track, whether that’s with colleagues, your partner, or a project. Just remember not to come down too heavy on those around you once you’ve pegged what must be done to fix things.

Cancer  (June 21 to July 21)

As a sign of the moon, you’re likely to have a flare-up of emotions around your finances and possessions. Perhaps someone’s been overcharging you, and it’s time to put a stop to it. Likewise, be highly selective with whom you share or lend things since feelings could come up with those transactions, too. With fair-minded Venus moving into practical Capricorn, your partnership sign, you’ll gain clarity on what’s yours and what’s not. Fair is fair, and it’s not unfair or unkind for you to keep tabs on how much you give and receive.

Leo  (July 22 to August 21)

A full moon in your sign regales you with more regality, of course. However, more power brings more bills and responsibility. Let the good times roll at the top of the week, knowing by the end of the week that you’ll have to roll up your sleeves. You’ll also have to risk looking like you’re not “in the know” in front of someone you’d rather not see you as vulnerable. Suck it up, because the best way to stay on top (or get there) is embracing where knowledge and growth take you, not holding on to your ego’s ignorance.

Virgo (August 22 to September 21)

The anxiety you’ve been feeling for a few weeks will ebb away as genteel Venus moves from antsy Sagittarius into calmer Capricorn. Although work can be a guilty pleasure for you, it’s time to cultivate other passions without the baggage. You know, things that are just for you without serving a larger purpose, including payment. Giving attention to a neglected hobby or stalled love interest will fire up your spirit and soothe your mind.

Libra (September 22 to October 21)

A bright Leo full moon in the heavenly sector reserved for your friends, associates, and social obligations indicates you’re more ready to greet your public. Ease into it, even though you might want to dive headfirst into the first get-together or party you can find at the top of the week. You’re still rawer, and maybe pricklier, than you realize, and too much too fast could raise your hackles. As breezy Venus settles into the fertile grounds of Capricorn on Saturday, you, too, might seek quieter company and more sedate pleasures with close friends or family.

Scorpio (October 22 to November 21)

Saturday’s Leo full moon lights up in the highest part of the sky for you. It’s a powerful omen for greater success and advancement. You’ve certainly worked hard to earn what’s coming your way. So why is it hard for you to relax now? In your gut, you know it’s not time to rest on your laurels and wait for your blessings. Magnetic Venus’s rise in ambitious Capricorn will steer you toward people who are capable and reliable to help. However, make time to get to know them better instead of speeding off to the next task.

Sagittarius (November 22 to December 21)

You might rebel against being as responsible as you’ve been the last several weeks. The last tango between sensual Venus in your sign and cheerful Jupiter by square on Monday will make it hard for you to get in a serious groove. It’s fine to blow off some steam, but you could let go more than you should. Although it’s hard to muster up the mental energy to discern what’s important when you feel like nothing is, Saturday’s full moon, along with Venus’s shift into more conscientious Capricorn, will help you recalibrate for next week.
