Annie Clark (aka St. Vincent) has given the world some good things, like critically acclaimed albums and enviable relationship style goals, and now, a new guitar. But this guitar will not just be any guitar. It is a guitar designed for women.
What that means, more specifically, is that it is extra-light, with a thinner waist so you can see the performer’s waist. “I was always finding when I was playing onstage and wearing various stage outfits the guitar would cut across one of the best features of the female body, which is your waist,” Clark told Guitar World magazine about designing the guitar. “I carry my guitar pretty high so I had to make all of these costumes based on the fact that you wouldn’t be able to see if I had a waist or not.” And on her Instagram she noted that the instrument, designed in collaboration with Ernie Ball, would have “room for a breast. Or two.” She took the model out for a test run when she played with Taylor Swift and Beck this summer.
