He doesn’t have the collection of trademark power brooches, but Derek Blasberg is making a bid to be the next Elsa Klensch. CNN announced today that Blasberg will host CNN Style, a new half-hour series that premieres next Saturday, April 9. Blasberg will explore the overlapping worlds of fashion, art, and design in the episodes, which feature such luminaries as Rita Ora. The program will also cover the Met Ball, Hong Kong Art Basel, Milan Design Week, and the Venice Architecture Biennale.
“Style is so much more than getting dressed, or looking at pictures on a wall,” Blasberg said in a release. “What I’m excited about with CNN Style is peeling back the layers of the worlds of art, architecture and design, and taking hard looks at the fashion, luxury and automotive industries to show how they affect the world at large. My career has introduced me to creative people from all walks of life, and it’ll be a pleasure to bring them to viewers around the world.”
