One of the problems with getting creative with your styling is that while some people will think you’re a genius, others will think you’re insane. Nothing is more divisive than wearing a dress over pants. If you hate it, then ignore this outfit. But if you’re curious about trying it out, here’s a way to ease into the trend. Begin with a short dress or tunic that skims the body like this leather Topshop number, so it’s like you’re wearing a very long top. Then try it over a pair of tailored, but not tight, trousers that end just above the ankle. Finish with a chunky heel — it adds height but doesn’t feel too delicate against the leather and plaid.
