Brittany Pavon Suriel, 28, and Steven Chaitoff, 30, were raised in Atlanta and Cleveland respectively, but they were set on getting married in Manhattan. “We met in Arabic class at Columbia when I was 19,” says Pavon Suriel, a career-development coordinator. “In a way, this is where we grew up.” Pavon Suriel and Chaitoff, a software engineer, decided to cap their guest list at 50 and set out to find cozy, romantic locations. They chose Jefferson Market Garden for the ceremony and bought out Bobo, a French restaurant in a West Village townhouse, for the reception. When the DJ split at midnight, “our friends started up their Spotify and played music through the restaurant’s sound system,” Pavon Suriel recalls. “We danced until they kicked us out at 1:30.”
