Joel McHale — actor, comedian, jam enthusiast — will host the 2016 CFDA Fashion Awards. “His experience as a host, an actor, a comedian, and someone who comes from outside the fashion industry will keep the night lively, topical, and unexpected,” president and CEO of the CFDA Steven Kolb said in a press release. It may be the first time that an awards-show host has been chosen for his lack of knowledge in the industry, but the Community actor does know how to rock a suit.
Jennifer Hudson and Michael C. Hall will perform alongside McHale on June 6. Tilda Swinton will be accepting the Board of Director’s Tribute award on behalf of David Bowie. Stay tuned for McHale’s opening, which hopefully won’t (or will?) be as controversial as his monologue at the ESPY’s.
