In a night of questionable outfits, Lady Gaga’s was fairly tame. It was a throwback of sorts to the pantsless, metallic Gaga from the early aughts. The most lively part of her Met Gala look: the hair and makeup forged with the help of makeup artist Sarah Tanno and hairstylist Frederic Aspiras.
After a facial with master aesthetician Joomee Song, Tanno moisturized Gaga’s face with a splattering of Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream and NARS Optimal Brightening Concentrate. Tanno credits Gaga’s bing-cherry-red lips to a total of six products, starting with Sisley’s pricey Nutritive balm, and then a lining of NARS’s lip pencil in jungle red. A dab of NARS Audacious lipstick in lana was painted in the middle of Gaga’s lips, followed by a wash of Striptease lip gloss on top. Never one to hold back, Tanno then swept NARS Velvet Matte Lipstick over Gaga’s lips and finished with a spot of Velvet Lip Glide in Mineshaft all over.
And the soundtrack that Gaga, Tanno, and Aspiras bumped to leading up to the Met Gala? “The Housewives,” Tanno said. Which city, on the other hand, is anyone’s guess.
