British actress Anna Friel wore a bird on her head at the Royal Ascot on Friday, gracing Britain’s largest horse race with a headpiece designed by Kate Middleton’s favorite hatmaker, Jane Taylor. As if a winged creature flew straight into Friel’s head, died, and stuck there, this feathered hat made a statement while requiring earthy accessories: tortoiseshell shades, a brown lace dress, a metallic purse, and gold heels.
