The world’s most glamorous polo match took place this weekend, with jockeys and models in the foreground and the Statue of Liberty in the background. For those who don’t know the rules of polo (so almost everyone), the main attraction is getting a first look at summer style.
Sweltering during an aggressively sunny Saturday, Rose Byrne, Elizabeth Olsen, Michael B. Jordan, Coco Rocha, and a slew of other actors, models, and influencers enjoyed bottles of Veuve Clicquot administered by cater-waiters in lederhosen-esque outfits (khakis with rolled-up hems, white tops, suspenders, and aprons in the Veuve signature orange).
If the orange carpet was any indication of summer trends to come, break out your white lace, maxidresses, and short-suits. For men, not-so-basic suits took first: Tyson Beckford wore lilac, and Andrew Rannells appeared in classic head-to-toe seersucker. Other highlights included Elizabeth Olsen’s formal shorts and Jaimie Alexander’s green-and-tan halter dress.
Among the stars attending was actor and body-pillow model Michael B. Jordan, who told us he was looking forward to “taking it all in. Lots of beautiful people here, and enjoying the scenery.” Click ahead for summer-style inspiration, and more views of the, ahem, scenery.
