In an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night, Oprah addressed Donald Trump’s longstanding request that she be his presidential running mate.
What would she do if Trump called her up right now and requested she be his VP? “I would say, ‘Donald, I’m with her.’”
Moreover, Oprah denied any rumors that she might run for president in the future; however, she admits that the climate of this current election has made her realize it’s not such a bad idea.
“Until this election year, I thought, ‘Wow, why do people say that? I have no qualifications to run.’ … I’m feeling pretty qualified. After this year, I’m feeling really qualified.”
In 1988, when Oprah asked Trump if he’d run for president, he told her, “I just don’t really have the inclination to do it.” However, he continued, “If it got so bad, I would never want to rule it out totally, because I really am tired of seeing what’s happening with this country.”
See? People change. Maybe we don’t have to rule out an Oprah presidential campaign entirely.
