Gisele Bündchen, who shares a strict diet regimen with her husband Tom Brady, was surprised with a special treat at work yesterday in anticipation of her upcoming birthday. The supermodel was on a shoot with Nino Munoz when her old pal presented her with an alleged birthday cake. It is not immediately clear what the cake consists of, or if it was approved by Tom and Gisele’s personal chef, Allen Campbell, who already has somewhat interesting thoughts on what constitutes “comfort food.”
After all, Campbell has already banned white sugar and flour from their diet, as well as caffeine, coffee, and dairy. Campbell told Boston.com, “Eighty percent of what they eat is vegetables. [I buy] the freshest vegetables. If it’s not organic, I don’t use it. And whole grains: brown rice, quinoa, millet, beans. The other 20 percent is lean meats: grass-fed organic steak, duck every now and then, and chicken. As for fish, I mostly cook wild salmon.”
The frozen smile on Gisele’s face indicates that either the cake was made with ingredients that Campbell long ago banned from their diet, or that it’s made with whatever Campbell does allow them to eat. Either way, what’s a birthday celebration without a possibly edible thing shaped like a cake?
