Today in horrifying beauty nightmares, the absolute worst thing that could happen while using an eyelash curler: Sneezing. One woman did, and she ripped out half of her eyelashes.
“I really thought i [sic] ripped my eyelid in half,” the victim, Reddit user Aub3912, said. She posted a photograph of her maimed, shimmering eyelid along with a snap of her lost lashes still tightly clamped in the curler.
Commenters suggested aloe vera, castor oil, or lash-growth serum to grow her eyelashes back. According to an entire website devoted to lost eyelashes aptly titled DO EYELASHES GROW BACK?, it could take weeks or months for them to grow back. Eyelashes grow in a three-phase cycle, with the first growth phase taking 30 to 45 days.
Best of luck to this woman, who shall live on in our nightmares.
