A giant purple horse, sexy dancing plants, snakes with boobs, and cats shooting arrows that turn into stars: If that sounds like it came from Lisa Hanawalt’s brain, that’s because it did. The inimitable illustrator behind BoJack Horseman teamed up with Tegan and Sara (and animator Nicole Stafford) to create their latest music video for the song “Hang on to the Night,” a meditation on anxiety. It manages to be both fantastical and tender — and no, I’m not tearing up when the horse eats the helicopters, YOU ARE.
