Meryl Streep is such a long-established cultural icon that it’s often easy to forget that she’s also a 67-year-old mortal trying to figure out this dang newfangled technology just like the rest of us. For instance, in a new interview with PrideSource, Streep revealed that she mixed up Snapchat and sexting:
Somebody told me that I Snapchatted but I don’t know how to Snapchat and I thought it was the thing that you do when you’re sexting sort of and then you want it to be erased. I didn’t know what they were talking about!
To her credit, one of the original things that made Snapchat appealing was the ability to send nude photos that would disappear in five seconds. Since then, it’s become a behemoth that I genuinely do not understand myself.
