Terrible news for GIF makers and lovers of petty drama across this great nation: Taylor Swift, the unofficial Regina George of the VMAs, will not be at the ceremony this year. That’s right — you literally can’t sit with her, because she ain’t gonna be there.
“Taylor was never scheduled to attend the VMAs,” a source told People, a decision we’re sure has nothing to do with the fact that sworn enemies Kim Kardashian and Kanye West will be holding court for a good bulk of the ceremony (with the latter allowed four beautiful minutes to do “whatever he wants”).
Admittedly, Taylor wasn’t nominated for any awards this year, but it’s still hard to imagine a Swift-less VMAs. She’s such an essential part of our annual VMA viewing experience! The squad pics.
