The U.S. women’s gymnastics team — the shining light of our hearts and souls during this year’s Olympics in Rio — just took home a gold medal. Simone Biles, Aly Raisman, Gabby Douglas, Laurie Hernandez, and Madison Kocian led the team competition ahead of Russia, who won silver, and China, who won bronze. This is the team’s third gold medal, following their win in 1996 in Atlanta and 2012 in London.
Especially notable about this gold? The team won by the largest margin ever recorded under the current scoring system.
