On the heels of NYFW’s Carolyn Murphy and Stella Tennant cameos and Versace’s supermodel-filled show last night at Milan Fashion Week came yet another pinch-yourself moment for model watchers. That would be Bottega Veneta’s 50th anniversary show this morning, which kicked off the day with appearances from Karen Elson, Malgosia Bela, and Eva Herzigová. The biggest cheer, of course, went to Lauren Hutton, who walked the runway and closed the show hand in hand with Gigi Hadid — our dream pairing of fashion It Girl and timeless icon.

In keeping with the anniversary theme, Tomas Maier incorporated many of his longtime motifs, from sheer, slinky knits, to belted A-line dresses, to paper-bag waisted skirts and trousers in sumptuous leathers. But the double-breasted trench is probably set to be the most popular. After all, it’s been seen all around the world by now, thanks to Hutton’s Insta-ubiquity.
