The Best Looks at the Saks Downtown Party Last Night

Statement dresses were the outfit of choice at Thursday night’s Saks Downtown opening party, where Vogue celebrated Saks Fifth Avenue’s new Manhattan store at Brookfield Place, the Manhattan mall for beautiful rich people and Drybar-addicted Condé Nast editors. There were two standout looks: Mary J. Blige in a striped long-sleeve dress, and Alice + Olivia designer Stacey Bendet’s shimmering cocktail dress — perfect for twirling, so she twirled a lot.

Guests sipped cocktails and shopped Balenciaga, shoes, sunglasses, and more from the latest collections in the gleaming new space. Saks Downtown is the mall’s first luxury department store — shoppers will find designer clothing sold exclusively at the location, as well as an edited collection from the Fifth Avenue flagship.
