Just like your laptop after you’ve been illegally streaming old episodes of Degrassi for a few hours, Kourtney Kardashian completely froze when anchors of an Australian morning show asked about her sister Kim’s robbery on Thursday.
The anchors of Today Extra were at the studio in Australia, while Kourtney was being interviewed live from Los Angeles. When asked about how her family is doing after the traumatic events, Kourtney opened her mouth and uttered a long, “Uhhhhhh,” before someone off-camera (presumably a publicist) said something to her. Kourtney looked at the person, said “okay,” and then sat there without moving or saying anything.
At first, it seemed as though there was something wrong with the connection, and the entire video feed was frozen. However, Kourtney was clearly blinking, and the palm trees behind her were moving. You could also vaguely hear the off-camera phantom talking to her.
After a while, anchor Sonia Kruger said, “All right, it looks like Kourtney really doesn’t want to go there with that question.”
“I think she’s blanking me,” anchor David Campbell offered. “I think she’s totally blanking me.”
“I think there’s probably a PR person there saying don’t talk about it,” Kruger said.
Eventually, Kourtney started talking again, and explained that there had been a “bad connection.” She said her family is still really shaken up but that they’re working on getting through the trauma together.
Luckily, this was only the second-most awkward thing to happen on live television in the past 24 hours.
