For every dinosaur-appliqued tote or mary jane–printed bucket bag worn during Fashion Month, there was an equally extravagant pair of shoes to match. Last year, Gucci’s loafers and Céline’s mules were the shoe bait of choice, but this year, no one designer ruled the sidewalks from the ankles down.
Still, other than the ubiquitous fashion sneaker, there were some recurring favorites, like Vetements’ Bic lighter shoes and Balenciaga’s chunky platforms. Other honorable mentions go to Proenza’s futuristic mules and Courrège’s signature curved boots.
