Either Blue Ivy had a say in this year’s Halloween theme for the Carter family, or Beyoncé might just be dropping hints again that she would really, really like her own Barbie doll (please and thank you). Not to be outdone by anyone other than herself this Halloween, Beyoncé got quite literally dolled up as a vintage, life-size black Barbie doll with her very own toy box.
Bey presented her own spin on the classic original Barbie dolls, produced from 1959 to 1961, which featured Barbie in a black-and-white swimsuit and peep-toe pumps. She wore her hair high in a ponytail and sported some cat-eye sunglasses by Sunday Somewhere. Jay Z also kept the vintage vibe going with his own costume as a boxed “collector edition” of a “40th Anniversary Ken.” Oh, and Blue Ivy got to rock out in her own ’50s-style costume, complete with a black jacket stamped with the “Barbie” logo on the back and a pink tulle skirt.
Mattel, let’s just have your people call Bey’s people. Blue Ivy isn’t the only one waiting for her black Barbie doll.
