Everyone is buzzing about comedian Louis C.K.’s appearance on Conan last night. What amazing thing did Louis do this time? With a week to go until the election, he announced his unequivocal support for Hillary Clinton, because she is a “mom” who “takes care of shit.” He made a point to note that he thinks she’s “super smart.” And then he reiterated his original opinion with some sassier swears. “I don’t want somebody who’s likable or cool anymore,” he cried, to great applause. “We need a two-faced, conniving, crazy, just somebody who’s just got a million schemes … We need just a tough, bitch mother who nobody likes, who just does the shit.”
If we have to pretend this is a good opinion, I’m going to die. Oh, Hillary Clinton is smart? Thank you, Louis C.K., for letting everybody know. You don’t care that she’s not a cool girl? That’s cool. The bar for a good male opinion about this election has gotten so low it barely exists. Endorsing a female candidate for president doesn’t count if you also call her a crazy bitch, to be funny. Is that funny?
