Oprah’s publishing imprint, which was first announced in 2015, has a name and a launch title and everything. An Oprah Book’s first release will be Winfrey’s very own cookbook, Food, Health and Happiness, on January 3, with Maria Smilios’s The Black Angels: The Untold Story of the Nurses Who Helped Cure Tuberculosis to follow in 2018. Flatiron Books, which is a division of Macmillan, also owns the rights to Winfrey’s memoir The Life You Want, which was supposed to come out in 2017; it does not currently have a release date.
In a shocking turn of events, one of Oprah’s favorite things of 2016 is her own cookbook:
“I’ve been wanting to share the recipes I love to make (Weight Watchers points and all) — and the lessons I’ve learned about ending my lifelong struggle with eating. Food Health and Happiness will be released in early January, but don’t worry —I won’t let you show up to Christmas empty-handed! Preorder now, and I’ll send a special note and gift in time for the holidays (while supplies last), so you can have something to wrap and give. See you in the kitchen!”
