Did you knit those little orbs covering your buns?
Yes! I wear my hair like this every day, and I can’t wear a regular beanie, so I had to make up a little hat for my head shape. I call this my “bunny-clava.” I love bunnies. Angora is my favorite kind of yarn.
What is it that drew you to knitting?
I think I just liked the fact that you’re making something out of a line, out of one strand of wool. And then I like the problem-solving that comes with it and the math and science of it. I also like that it’s forgiving: If you don’t like something, you can unravel and start over.
Big holiday plans?
I’ll probably have a low-key Christmas here, and then for New Year’s, I’m going to do what I did last year: My friends and I did a guided meditation. We just lie on the ground, and we’re like, Okay, this is where we’re going to put our efforts and energy next year, and stuff like that.
Favorite movie: Elf.
Currently reading: From the Mixed-up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler. “I feel like I fully understand the story as a grown-up.”
Currently watching: Stranger Things. “I spook easily, so I was afraid to watch it, but I’m obsessed.”
Holiday-gift plan: “Everyone in my family has earned their cashmere hat this year.”
