No one wants to fall victim to a con-artist scheme personally, but there’s something about a sensational swindler story that’s universally appealing (in a sordid way). To indulge our interest in the art of deception, we sent the Cut’s Instagram editor, Emily Sunderg, to SXSW, where she checked out dual activations presented by Bravo’s Imposters: InstaCON and Cocktails and Cons. There, Sundberg immersed herself in mini-tutorials on how to – in the network’s words – “get in on the con,” ranging from faking a fancy photo-op to lifting valuables off of unsuspecting targets. Watch the video above for the tricks of the trade she took away from the one-of-a-kind experience.
Can’t get enough action, intrigue, and deceit? Tune in to Bravo for the season two premiere of Imposters — which centers around con woman Maddie and “the “Bumblers,” a trio of her recent heartbroken victims — on April 5 at 10 p.m. EST (9 p.m. CT).
