Louis Vuitton designer Nicolas Ghesquière’s pre-fall lookbook is a testament to his muses — 17 performers, including Indya Moore, Laura Harrier, and Michelle Williams. For the in-between season of pre-fall, he played with the relationship between designer and celebrity, a relationship that is becoming closer and closer than ever before.
“These women embrace the various personalities that embody fashion at Louis Vuitton. Be they stars or new faces, all of them share the same willpower, and confidence in their choices, and at the same time, reflect the eclecticism of the female identity,” Ghesquière said in a release. But the clothes are also worth noting, lest you get distracted by the familiar faces. The collection vacillates between country and city sensibilities — wedge-heeled booties (more evidence of the aughts comeback) and vinyl corseted belts are mixed in with tartan overcoats and pussy-bow blouses. You can be anything you want for pre-fall — even if what you want is to wear a poplin shirt with a tartan vest over leopard biker shorts. Just don’t forget the wedges.
