New York Fashion Week has come to a close, and we’re expecting to see a lot more of the season’s street-style trends. Lessons learned: The Saks Pott coat is the trendy-but-not-too-trendy solution for gray winter days. Center parts are coming for our heads, and barrettes are happening. One woman covered her entire head with barrettes! Others wore embellished barrettes made with metallic, pearls, gemstones, and loud exclamations like “GLAM” or other words you might overhear at a fashion party.
New Yorkers made it clear that it’s way more fun to wear any color but black. Teddy-bear coats, trenches, puffers, and suits were everywhere in every color and print, from hot pink to purple and tie-dye to plaid. Editors and influencers carried tiny bags that either matched or clashed with their outfits — with just enough space for a phone, wallet, and (for the true influencers) a Juul. One of the best purses was shaped like an onion, and another was shaped like a dog.
