Singer and songwriter Jorja Smith has an addition to her résumé: beauty icon. Today, Dior Beauty announced that she will be the brand’s newest ambassador. This is Smith’s first beauty position, but with her excellent eyelashes and glowy skin, she could have honestly answered in her job interview that she has “no weaknesses.”
Smith will be working with Peter Philips, the brand’s creative and image director, on editorial and digital projects, meaning we’ll be seeing a lot more of her face everywhere. In a press release, the brand praised Smith’s style, music, and messaging: “Her style, a blend of R&B, soul and hip-hop, is now established, carried by politically committed and feminist lyrics.” Notably, Dior has had an increasingly feminist focus since the hiring of its first female artistic director, Maria Grazia Chiuri. Smith performed at the Dior’s sponsored Guggenheim International Gala in 2018.
Jorja will join a robust team of fellow Dior Beauty ambassadors including Natalie Portman, Jennifer Lawrence, Bella Hadid, and Charlize Theron. Congrats to Dior Beauty and Smith for “Getting It Together” and making this match happen.
