35 Things on Sale You’ll Actually Want to Buy: From Coach to Champion

You may have noticed some posts from our friends at the Strategist on the Cut. They’ll be dropping in every now and again, sharing their expertise on the basics you don’t have time to research and the weird and wonderful things you don’t yet know you need.

This week we’ve unearthed a bunch of things that, even when they’re not discounted, look a lot more expensive than they are: from a coffee table to a pair of sandals to a button-down.

Rag & Bone makes a really nice simple white T-shirt that doesn’t go on sale too often. Right now it’s 60 percent off in white as well as gray. (Black, for some reason, is still full price.)

Can’t go wrong with a pair of navy Superga sneaks.

This cotton short-sleeved button-down from Free People will look great tucked (for a more formal, work-y look) or untucked (for a more easy-breezy weekend look).

This pretty, floral-adorned melamine tray from Dansk is perfect for outdoor entertaining and serving your guests deviled eggs or raw veggies.

Everything at Anthropologie is 20 percent off this weekend, which means it’s a good time to pick up a pair of Veja sneakers (as they aren’t usually on sale). Note: Discounts are applied at checkout.

This Hutch dress from Anthro’s new plus-size line is good for a summer wedding.

This cheerful, lightweight Everlane sweatshirt was newly added to its “Choose What You Pay” section.

Through the weekend, it’s a buy-one-get-one-free situation at Hopp (makers of some of our favorite insanely comfortable shoes), so go in on a pair with a buddy. Might we suggest these go-with-everything black sandals.

Sale items at Madewell are an extra 20 percent off. This denim tank dress can be worn as shown here, or with a white T-shirt underneath.

If you know us, you know we cannot resist some Madewell coveralls.

Who knew you could buy Champion sweatpants at Madewell? (They’re available and on sale in black, too.)

If you’re considering any of the above items, throw in this three-pack of undies.

Just a simple quartet of bone china nesting bowls from Godinger. For scale, the smallest one pictured here is about the size of a cereal bowl, so these are more for serving/mixing than everyday eating.

It’s not everyday you see a 78 percent off lip gloss from Urban Decay for four bucks.

Also half-off: these “crinkled jersey” men’s tapered sweatpants from Nike.

The espadrille sandal trend doesn’t seem to be abating anytime soon. These Splendids have a See by Chloe-esque look about them.

An ideal summer sweater (it’s linen, it’s striped) courtesy of one Ms. Eileen Fisher.

Now that Mother’s Day is taken care of (if not, head here immediately), this trio of Barbour pocket squares would make an excellent dad gift.

Not the biggest discount in the world, but a discount nonetheless on these classic Havaianas flip-flops.

This melodramatic purple miniskirt is a collaboration between Adidas Originals and Kylie Jenner.

All of Champion’s polka-dotted collection at Urban Outfitters is on sale; these shorts are particularly pleasing. (Here’s the hoodie and crew neck sweatshirt.)

This right here does not look like a $50 coffee table.

One of our favorite (and best-selling) Mother’s Day gifts, this foot massager is on sale — it won’t get there by Sunday, but would be an extra-nice sorry-I’m-late gift when it arrives next Thursday.

This duffel will come in handy for any weekend trips you have planned this summer. It has adjustable shoulder straps and tons of pockets.

A slim-fit Brooks Brothers striped button-down shirt for those who need to look presentable on occasion.

This blanket looks like it was specifically made for afternoon naps on the couch.

This, Japan’s best-selling body lotion, is particularly good for very dry or cracked skin.

As we noted earlier in the week, through the weekend and timed to Mother’s Day, there’s a ton of Coach stuff that’s 30 percent off, like this goes-with-everything crossbody bag, for instance.

This sweet little change purse is based on an archival design.

A springy tweed jacket from plus-size line Eloquii that’d be nice to leave at the office for when the air conditioner’s on full blast or you need to go to an impromptu formal meeting.

We always think it’s noteworthy to point out a DVF wrap dress that’s under 200 bucks. This is available also in a light green.

These napkins look very “what, these old things?” without feeling ratty, of course. There’s a matching table runner on sale, too.

There’s a sale on Amazon right now for their in-house “Daily Ritual” line, and this black tank dress is not an insanely amazing deal, but one we thought worth noting.

This short-sleeved tencel top does not look like it’s $23.

The Strategist is designed to surface the most useful, expert recommendations for things to buy across the vast e-commerce landscape. Some of our latest conquests include the best acne treatments, rolling luggage, pillows for side sleepers, natural anxiety remedies, and bath towels. We update links when possible, but note that deals can expire and all prices are subject to change.
