Michelle Obama Wears Glossier, Too

Former First Lady Michelle Obama was at Essence Festival in New Orleans this weekend, and she was wearing a lot of good things: her natural curls, a sequin jumpsuit, and an entire face of reasonable beauty products.

We’re not talking about the pricey, prestige products that famous people tend to wear. But we’re also not talking about the straight-up drugstore stuff that’s sometimes a veiled attempt to cancel out all the expensive stuff, either. We’re talking about that nice, comfortable sweet spot where things like Millennial favorite Glossier lives, alongside those other beloved brands you kind of forgot about ever since Glossier took over, like Too Faced and Stila.

According to Into the Gloss, Mobama’s makeup artist Carl Ray not only used Glossier Lidstar (in Cub) for the look, but also incorporated Glossier Lip Gloss in a brand new shade of red that’s set to launch tomorrow morning. To round things out, Ray also used Too Faced eye shadow, Stila Stay All Day Liquid Liner, Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer, Lilly Lashes of Shahs of Sunset fame, Makeup For Ever nude liquid lipstick as a base for the new gloss, M.A.C Skinfinish highlighter, and good ol’ Better Than Sex mascara (though Benefit Cosmetics gets a mascara tag on Ray’s Instagram post, which is still very on theme).

The end result was fresh, sweat-proof, and for once, something you could actually recreate by yourself, with your own stuff at home, for real … if you still remember where your stash of Too Faced is, and can wait until 7 A.M. EST tomorrow when the new glossy Glossier glosses (Red and Holographic) drop. Stare at them below.
