35 Things on Sale You’ll Actually Want to Buy: From Dickies to Missoni

You may have noticed some posts from our friends at the Strategist on the Cut. They’ll be dropping in every now and again, sharing their expertise on the basics you don’t have time to research and the weird and wonderful things you don’t yet know you need.

Lots of goodies in this Friday’s sales roundup including several butt-flattering jeans, a chubby side-table, a practical knife set, and one of Rio Viera-Newton’s favorite cream blushes.

When it comes to Levi’s Wedgie jeans, it’s always important to show a butt shot.

These Dickies coveralls are 40 percent off (today only) as part of an UO “flash sale” on dresses, rompers, and skirts. There’s a stripy pair of Dickies coveralls on sale, too.

The Patagonia Houdini jacket (so called because it’s insanely lightweight and folds up into a little nothing) is perfect for forthcoming crisp fall days.

If August seems like an odd time to buy cashmere that’s because it is. But for 76 percent off, it’s hard to resist.

As our colleagues at the Cut pointed out, Reformation is having quite the sale right now. These are some great-seeming high-waisted (stretchy) black jeans.

A relaxed striped tee that’d look great tucked into the black jeans above.

It’s a little coy (the polka dots) and a little not-coy (the dramatic slit up the leg).

Some more seasonally inappropriate cashmere.

The mesh “inner shorts” help improve airflow.

A rather sexy floor lamp that’s meant to bring “minimalist-industrial energy” to your space.

Cashmere? And now espadrilles? We’re all over the place today!

This elegant Muuñ bucket bag has a handle made from bamboo.

These leggings from the Upside are apparently ideal for yoga, and you can’t see it in this photo but they have neon stripes and blue panels adorning each leg.

Speaking of leggings, there are a few left on super-sale over at Outdoor Voices.

There’s this half-zip pullover as well. As one reviewer put it: “perfect for pre-workouts, hikes/strolls, running errands or just around the house. Obsessed.”

And some swim trunks that a friend of ours was wearing the other weekend and very much liked. They looked great — very crisp — on him.

Most dopp kits take themselves very seriously. This one from Topo Designs is just having a little fun.

This Bill Cunningham blue chore coat is from Alex Mill, a newish line founded by J.Crew and Madewell alums.

As far as basic, worn-in-looking black T-shirts go, this one seems really nice.

This fleece is a lot cheaper than its Patagonia and North Face counterparts (and equally Gorpcorian).

We’ll let it slide that it’s called a “dufflete.” It’s actually a very lovely bag.

All sale items are an additional 25 percent off at Anthropologie, which makes these elegant suede slides a no-brainer.

This striped shower curtain’ll add a little pep to your bathroom’s step.

This is one of Rio’s favorite cream blushes. As she wrote: “I’ve been told more than once while wearing this that I looked like I just got home from the beach.”

We love the “chubby” lines of this West Elm side table.

A whole bunch of sale items at Bloomies are an extra 25 percent off (the discount’s applied at checkout), like this sweet, heart-shaped fanny pack from Le Sportsac.

And this classic leather work tote from MICHAEL by Michael Kors.

The shiny gold hardware contrasts nicely with the nylon here.

$96 is still a lot of money for a bath towel, but with these zigzaggy Missoni linens it’s almost like you’re investing in decor.

Not sure how much stock is left, so if you’re considering this soft duvet (“like wrapping your bed in your favorite vintage tee”), don’t dillydally.

You probably don’t need another striped T-shirt, but (a) it has a pocket, and (b) it’s $15.

Some incredibly comfortable-looking (machine washable) pants that you could both wear to sleep and to work.

The Strategist is designed to surface the most useful, expert recommendations for things to buy across the vast e-commerce landscape. Some of our latest conquests include the best acne treatments, rolling luggage, pillows for side sleepers, natural anxiety remedies, and bath towels. We update links when possible, but note that deals can expire and all prices are subject to change.
