keeping up with the royals

Baby Archie, who looks exactly like baby Prince Harry, has also inherited his father’s famous red hair. The duke and duchess took the 5-month-old to the annual WellChild Awards today, where Archie’s hair was on full display, and indeed looked to be pale peach in color. (Up until now this has been a mystery; Archie has mostly been seen in black-and-white photos, and also hasn’t had hair.)

A Liverpool woman told Town and Country that the royal couple confirmed Archie’s hair color at the awards: “Meghan said he has, and Harry said he definitely has, you can see it in his eyebrows.” The royal couple have differing opinions on just how much hair Archie has. Harry insists he didn’t have any for 5 months, and Meghan says that at their playgroup there are other babies with the same amount of hair or less than Archie’s. A source also told People that he is “a happy baby” and “has lovely, puffy little legs and tufts of reddish hair. He’s really adorable.”

Prince Harry is one of the few redheaded royals, something that he recently joked about in a video with fellow famous ginger Ed Sheeran. Back in 2007, the British tabloids reported that Harry was bullied as a teenager for his hair, even his then-girlfriend Chelsy Davy, was rumored to have nicknamed him “Big Ginger.” Can we suggest reclaiming “Little Ginger” as a nickname for baby Archie?
