The couple tied the knot in Rhode Island at the Belcourt of Newport, a lavish, possibly haunted 60-room estate that was inspired by Louis XIII’s hunting lodge at Versailles, and is currently owned by Alex and Ani CEO Carolyn Rafaelian. According to People, Lawrence chose Dior for her wedding gown, which comes as no surprise since she’s been working with the French fashion house since 2012.
Among the 150 guests were Lawrence’s good friends Emma Stone, Adele, and Amy Schumer, as well as director David O. Russell, with whom Lawrence worked with on her films Joy, Silver Linings Playbook, and American Hustle. Ashley Olsen, Nicole Richie, Joel Madden, Cameron Diaz, and Lawrence’s “guiding light,” Kris Jenner, were also in attendance. Many of the guests also attended the couple’s clambake rehearsal dinner on Friday.
The 29-year-old actress was first linked to the 34-year-old art dealer in the summer of 2018, and they became engaged in February of this year. Lawrence spoke about Maroney when she was a guest on the podcast, Naked With Catt Sadler, this past June. “I just met Cooke and I wanted to marry him. We wanted to marry each other. We wanted to commit fully,” she said. “He’s my best friend so I want to legally bind him to me forever. And fortunately the paperwork exists for such a thing. It’s the greatest. You find your favorite person in the planet and you’re like, you can’t leave. So I wanted to take that offer.”
No word yet on whether the couple’s wedding gifts included anything from her Amazon registry!
