Los Angeles sparkled a bit more than usual on Saturday evening at LACMA’s ninth annual Art+Film Gala. Presented by Gucci, the event honored artist Betye Saar and filmmaker Alfonso Cuarón in front of their peers and some of the biggest names in Hollywood. Champagne flowed as Brie Larson, Naomi Campbell, Billie Eilish, Greta Gerwig, Donald Glover, and Yara Shahidi mingled, while co-chairs Eva Chow and Leonardo DiCaprio chatted alongside Guillermo del Toro and Catherine Opie.
While Tyler, the Creator’s knee-socks-and-shorts combo and Keanu Reeves and his rumored paramour-slash-business-partner got a lot of buzz, it was impossible to miss Gucci’s new High Jewelry collection, which glittered on the necks and ears of some of the stars. The collection comprises over 200 pieces. It debuted during the Paris Haute Couture season in July, but the gala was one of the first times any of it has been worn in public by a VIP.
Sienna Miller wore a standout necklace in white gold with opals, pink sapphires, lagoon tourmalines, red spinels, chrysoberyls, mandarin garnets, green tourmalines, and diamonds, valued at over $500,000. Salma Hayek Pinault’s updo highlighted a resplendent pair of earrings and a bracelet in white gold and diamonds, while Zoe Saldana wore two rings: a solitaire ring in yellow gold with opal and diamonds, and another ring in yellow gold with garnets and diamonds.
