You may have noticed some posts from our friends at the Strategist on the Cut. They’ll be dropping in every now and again, sharing their expertise on the basics you don’t have time to research and the weird and wonderful things you don’t yet know you need.

In this week’s edition of the best of the best of the week’s sales, we unearthed two very cozy fleeces, an 86 percent off Eileen sweater, a practical set of white sheets, a work-appropriate jumpsuit, and a chair designed by Peter Brady.

There’s a fall sale afoot at Shopbop wherein loads of winter wares are on sale, like this faux-fur zip-up-sweater situation.

In other animal-print news, this tiger-striped mock neck is also 30 percent off.

It’s about to be Heattech season, people — we like to wear our Heattech leggings out and about with a big oversize sweater on the weekends.

Whenever there’s a pants sale, we like to immediately see what Levi’s jeans are available. There’s one at Anthropologie right now, and these high-waisted Levi’s skinny jeans are 25 percent off.

Some pocketless-on-the-butt skinnies.

Simultaneously, at Anthropologie, all sale items are an extra 40 percent off, like this corduroy pencil skirt that’s also available in plus sizes.

And this accent chair with a graphic pattern that will add some zhuzh but not overwhelm a living room.

Throw in this 63 percent off embroidered pillow while you’re at it.

Just some extremely practical 300-thread-count, well-reviewed white sheets on sale as part of a larger bedding sale on Amazon.

These designed-in-Copenhagen, made-in-Portugal men’s hiking boots could be worn to work.

Speaking of plaid, we’re somewhat obsessed with this Tommy Hilfiger puffer.

This Tumi packing cube would make a great gift for a frequent traveler.

Throw a cardigan over it and you have a nice day-to-day work outfit.

This sweater is (a somewhat unheard of) 86 (!) percent off.

The Nordstrom fall sale is still chugging along and there are some things we missed the first time around, like these Hunter Chelsea rain boots in a pleasing shade of muted blue.

Such a lovely mug for a mere $6 — that’s also available in three other colors.

Sale items at Madewell are an extra 20 percent off, which makes these sweatpants somewhat irresistible.

As we noted earlier today, pretty much the entire Coach website is 30 percent off with the code SAVE30. We like these combat boots because there are no pesky laces!

A good mother-in-law gift — $105 is a really palatable amount to spend on such a gift.

On the plain-black-bag front, a lovely cross-body from Tory Burch.

These suede ballet flats (they are available in a zillion colors) are foldable, i.e., packable.

For those keeping track, yes, this is the second fleece on this list — and we don’t care!

At Backcountry, all Arc’teryx items are 20 percent off — like this very warm, very sleek down jacket.

Another good sale that we covered this week: the $19.99 and less sale at Urban Outfitters. These jeans are normally $64.

This Areware key chain makes a great stocking stuffer/secret santa/what have you.

A very festive way to display your bananas.

And then there’s this stately chair, designed by … Peter Brady from The Brady Bunch.
